We hope everyone enjoyed a relaxing Labor Day holiday and got to recharge! We came back from the break with high energy and packed Week 5 full of major accomplishments across campus!
🏆 District Recognition

• "Living Within Our Values" Award: A massive congratulations to our very own Mr. Ostrow, who was awarded the District's "Living Within Our Values" award! Thank you, Mr. Ostrow, for leading by example, lifting up our students, and embodying the heart and soul of what it truly means to be a Cougar! 🌟👏

🏀 Basketball Dominance

• Double Victory vs. Port Charlotte Middle: What a huge night for Cougar Basketball! Both teams brought the heat and swept Port Charlotte Middle. Our boys powered through with an explosive 65-34 win, while our Lady Cougars delivered a defensive masterclass in a 38-9 blowout! Shoutout to our players, coaches, and roaring crowd for keeping the momentum rolling! 🏀🔥

🏃‍♂️ Team P.E. Highlights: Lacing Up For Success!

• Marathon Kids: Our students are on week 3 of the marathon kids program and we are currently #1 in the District, #1 in the State, and #3 in the Nation, but we are coming to reclaim our #1 spot! 🥇🏆
• In the Gym & Field: Basketball tournaments are intense in Coach Starck's class, Coach Jackson is rocking it with the technology in P.E. with interactive Nearpod lessons, and Coach Stier is gearing up for Archery with safety contracts! 🏹
• Fitness Focus: All classes are covering the components of fitness with hand-eye coordination, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance.
• After School Action: SWAT and Weightlifting are in full effect! 💪🏋️‍♂️

🎨 Art Club Launch

• First Meeting Fun: Oh. My. Gosh. Talk about awesome! Our first meeting of the year was PACKED with smiles, creativity, and laughter! In Art club today, we created foam masks adorned with sparkle, pipe cleaners, and character! It was amazing to see all of the creations come to life. Truly incredible. ✨🎭🎨

🎷 Band Spotlight

• This week in Band: "Beginning Band students got their instruments this week and attended "Basic Training" on Tuesday after school. Sectionals were held across campus with pros and 8th grade band student helpers so they could learn the basics. "Team Beginning Band" will now begin taking instruments home like the 7th and 8th graders!" 🎶🎺
