🐾 WEEK 4 RECAP: Testing, Tastings, & Huge Wins on the Court! 🎉

What an incredible Week 4! Our students locked in for testing, dove into hands-on learning, launched awesome clubs, and shined on the court and in the arts!
📝 Academics, Testing & Assemblies
  • PM1 Testing: We officially finished PM1 ELA and Math testing—huge shoutout to our students for locking in and giving it their all!
  • 6th Grade Assembly: Our 6th graders gathered for a special grade-level assembly to celebrate their transition to middle school, review expectations, and keep the energy high for the year ahead!
  • Science Spotlight:
    • Mrs. Joyce's class put lab safety into practice while creating their very own lava lamps! 🧪✨
    • Mrs. Petro’s 7th graders explored variables through fingerprint analysis, while her 8th graders gathered empirical evidence by measuring bubble sizes from different dish soaps.
  • Creative Writing: Mrs. Edwards’ class taste-tested Chicken & Waffles Oreos, using their five senses to craft detailed, sensory-rich writing.
🏀 Athletics, P.E. & Clubs
  • P.E. Action: Students stayed active this week working on muscular strength training and taking the field for high-energy games of Capture the Flag! 🚩🏃‍♂️
  • Cougars vs. Punta Gorda Middle: What an exciting night on the court!
    • 🏀 Lady Cougars: Absolute dominance! Our girls brought high energy and took home an incredible 52-9 victory!
    • 🏀 Cougars: Up against a tough opponent, our boys showed true grit and battled until the very end in an 88-18 loss. Every challenge is an opportunity to learn and come back stronger!
    • Fantastic effort, heart, and sportsmanship from both teams—let's carry this momentum into the next matchup!
  • Clubs & Intramurals: Campus is buzzing—Weightlifting, SWAT, and Flag Football intramurals have officially launched!
🎨 Cougar Arts
  • L.A. Ainger Artists of the Month: Ms. White launched our very first Artists of the Month! Shoutout to our August winners—Catalina, Jayde, Riley, Jarren & MJ, Roman, and Zachary—for showing Cougar T.R.A.C.K.S. and setting an amazing example in the art room. Enjoy your certificates, ribbons, PBIS points, and sweet treats! Keep an eye out for September’s winners coming soon.
You’ve all worked so hard across academics, athletics, and the arts. Enjoy this well-deserved 3-day weekend to rest, recharge, and celebrate your progress. Keep believing in yourselves, stay motivated, and let’s bring that same fire into Week 5! 💪🐾🏀🎨🔬📚✨
