April 2, 2026

Words from Mr. Smith

Greetings Cougar Families, we are officially in April! We have a lot taking place right now and April is going to be filled with our students getting ready for tests and some fun as well.

Our 4th quarter field trips are right around the corner. 6th grade students are going to North Port Aquatic center on April 24th, 7th grade students are going to Sky Zone on April 10th and 8th grade are going to Dave and Busters on April 23rd. As always with our quarterly celebrations our students are to have 80+ attendance, no failing grades and no repeat discipline with ISS and OSS! We look forward to our students having a great time!

As we wind down this fourth quarter, I want to urge all of you to take advantage of our tutoring and extra help that is offered M-Th with free transportation. As we prepare for the End of Course exams and tests we just want every student to be as prepared as possible.

As always, thank you for all you do for LA Ainger and thank you for being part of our Cougar Family!

Ainger PTO Updates
Only two meetings left this school year! This year has flown!
Our last two meetings are:
Monday April 13th (board nominations)
Monday May 11th (board elections)

In March we had a hugely successful fundraiser at The Arctic Alligator and Bakery. Between families purchasing ice cream and raffles, we raised $700 for the school to put towards the end of year field trips! Thank you to all who supported our efforts!

Teacher Appreciation Week is being hosted this month! The week of April 20th we will celebrate our amazing educators with breakfast from McDonalds, lunch from Mama’s, coffee from Starbucks, a candy bar AND a dirty soda bar! If you want to volunteer with set up, please email aingerpto@gmail.com.

Last, we have our PTO board nominations at our April meeting. If you want to get more involved with PTO, please join us and nominate yourself! We’d love to have you! We are also looking for someone to shadow our sponsorship coordinator in the 2026-2027 school year. If you’re interested, email aingerpto@gmail.com or join us at our April or May meeting!

We hope to see you and work with you to help create an even more amazing community at Ainger!

⚽ Soccer Wrap-Up: A Season of Heart and Growth
As the final whistle blows on our soccer season, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible journey of our student-athletes. While we may not have brought home the trophy this year, the scoreboard doesn’t tell the whole story.
Our athletes displayed remarkable effort, resilience, and sportsmanship in every match. Under the dedicated guidance of Coaches Scott, Odenbach, Petro, and Hagerty, who truly coached their hearts out, our players have grown exponentially both as teammates and individuals. We are so proud of the grit you showed on the pitch!

🤼 Wrestling: Defending the Title!
The mats are down and the energy is high! Our final sport of the year, Wrestling, is already in action. We are looking forward to another dominant season as we aim for the District Championship.
We are honored to be under the expert leadership of Lemon Bay High School’s Head Coach Ragan, Coach Davids, and their dedicated staff of coaches and high school volunteers.
